Waterwise guides clients in imagining original, high-impact possibilities for landscapes that maximize natural resources, budgets, creativity and lifestyle. Clients trust our expertise and design savvy whenever they want to consider an innovative approach to achieving a beautiful Colorado landscape that mirrors their personality.

Lorin Unterberger, Owner
Lorin grew up in Chicago. At the first opportunity, he fled the Midwest for the mountains of Colorado, where he studied environmental geology at Colorado College. Following a short hiatus living and working in Costa Rica, Lorin graduated, spent a couple of years working at a sustainable farming operation, and ultimately relocated to Fort Collins in 1999. He entered the industry as a local nursery employee, and soon founded Waterwise Land and Waterscapes to create well thought-out landscapes and install them by the best possible means. Since its inception in 2001, a history of meaningful relationships, original designs and quality projects has led to consistent growth and new opportunities.

Jessica Viles, Designer/Project Manager
Jessica started her career in the landscape industry more than a dozen years ago, when she earned her certificate in Landscape Design from California State University Northridge in 1997. While in school, she worked at a retail plant nursery near her hometown of Camarillo, Calif. Relocating to the Sacramento area in 2000, Jessica continued to work for nurseries and landscape companies as a designer and field supervisor. Since moving to Fort Collins in 2007, her passion for creating sustainable landscapes has grown, and her extensive field experience and vast knowledge of plant material continue to be strong complements to her creative design skills. She has been with Waterwise since February 2008.

Chris Swedenborg
Chris was born and raised in Littleton, CO where he fell in love with the outdoors. Wanting to stay close to the mountains, he attended Western States College in Gunnison, CO and graduated with a Business Management Degree in 1995. He started in the landscape industry shortly after and soon decided to make a career of it. Chris moved to Summit County in 1999 and started working for a local landscape company as a field supervisor. He continued working there until 2009 when he left his position as an Operations Manager to relocate to Fort Collins. He has continued his career in the Green Industry with Waterwise Land and Waterscapes as a Project Manager and Estimator. Since starting with Waterwise, he continues to enjoy installing quality landscapes, focusing on customer service and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible.
